September 6, 2013Kelsky Law, P.A. Litigation Success -FPL to pay Fort Lauderdale man whose home was damaged by power line
November 14, 2013Brad Kelsky, Esq., and Barbara Llinas, Esq., obtained a $209,570.00 verdict against Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) on Friday, November 1, 2013. An FPL fallen power line fell across the plaintiff’s driveway. We claimed that the fallen power line energized the home’s copper plumbing system with sufficient current to cause arcing and a rupture of a copper plumbing pipe. As a result of the rupture, the home flooded. FPL admitted responsibility for the fallen power line and that it damaged the plaintiff’s concrete driveway. FPL denied that the fallen power line energized and damaged the copper plumbing system. After a four day trial, the jury returned a verdict specifically finding that the fallen power line damaged the interior of the home and awarded damages in favor of the plaintiff.
